Thomsonite Necklace

This necklace features a Thomsonite cabochon set in fine and sterling silver. The surface of the stone is polished but not smoothed out like most cabochons. I hand stamped the border around the stone and oxidized the lines to increase the contrast. This pendant measures 1 and 3/16 inches, including the bail. The sterling silver chain is 18 inches long, and finished with a handmade hook and eye clasp.
Thomsonite is a rare stone found near Grand Marais, Minnesota.
